बीकानेर इलेक्शन

Bikaner, 16th May, 2009. BJP Candidate Arjun Ram Meghwal won the Bikaner parliamentary constituency by a margin of 19575 votes defeating his nearest Congress rival Rewant Ram Pawar. BSP Candidate remained at third place, and CPM candidate Pawan Duggal at fourth place. BJP has retained the Bikaner seat; earlier it was Actor (Dharmendra) and this time a Collector. Counting of votes took place today at Govt. Polytechnic College, Bikaner amidst tight security. Every table of counting was kept separate by covering it with barricade and iron grid. Out of total counted 569804 valid votes, Arjun Meghwal (BJP) got 244537 votes and Rewant Ram Pawar (INC) got 224962 votes. Govind Meghwal (BSP) got 39306 votes and Pawan Duggal (CPM) got 36555 votes. Both the candidates were took lead in 4 each assembly constituencies out of total 08 assembly seats. BJP took lead in Bikaner (East), Bikaner (West), Kolayat and Nokha, whereas Congress took lead in Anupgarh, Khajuwala, Lunkaransar and Sri Dungargarh.
